Hi Reader,
I have a small (but massive) update for you.
After giving this some thought, I’ve decided to officially move this newsletter over to Substack and am giving it a new name:
Introducing: Say This Instead
This isn’t a massive pivot or a complete reinvention of what you’ve come to expect from me.
I’m still your resident former diplomat turned executive communications coach that’s here to help you navigate difficult conversations without overthinking every word or second-guessing yourself after the fact.
But I am making one meaningful shift.
Because over the past few months, I’ve noticed something about the women I work with:
You don’t just want to understand communication.
You want to know exactly what to say.
Not in a vague, theoretical way.
But in a clear, practical, use-these-exact-words-like-a-script-in-your-next-meeting kind of way.
Because when you’re in the heat of the verbal moment—heart racing, thoughts moving too fast, trying to keep your composure…
…you don’t have time to piece together the perfect response that you remember hearing back in that one random podcast you listened to three weeks ago.
You need language you can actually use—right now.
What’s interesting is that most of my clients tend to find me right at the moment when…
- You constantly replay conversations in your head, wishing you had said something sharper, clearer, or more direct after the fact
- You totally freeze in the moment and default to keeping the peace instead of saying what you really mean, even if it’s hard
- You struggle to find the right words or strike the right balance between sounding “too emotional” or being overly blunt
- You leave meetings feeling like your point didn’t fully land or they just didn’t get it, even though you know that what you shared was valuable
- You want to advocate for yourself more clearly, but you’re not always sure how to phrase it so you get your point across
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re exactly who the next chapter of this newsletter is for.
Because Say This Instead is going to focus on one thing:
Giving you the exact words, frameworks, and scripts to navigate difficult conversations in the workplace.
Each week, you’ll get simple, practical scripts you can adapt and use immediately.
No fluff.
No over-complication.
Just clear language that helps you show up as the leader you already are.
So if you’ve been wanting more support in those in-the-moment conversations where everything feels a little higher stakes, you’re going to love what’s coming next.
Until next time,
Judnefera
